Sunday 12 February 2017

The Team event is open to clubs that wish to enter teams of two cars.

The Masters Class is open to individual cars. Both are serious Concours competitions and to win, the cars will need to be prepared to the highest standard. The judges scrutinise all aspects of preparation and presentation to the finest detail. The rules and competition brief are detailed elsewhere on this website. Make sure you read & understand them.

The Survivors Class is open to individual cars of more than 35 years old. This is a relatively new category and full details are listed in the website "Rules" section.

The team event goes back to 1972. The Master Class was introduced in 1987. Both are highly regarded in the world of classic cars. By entering, you will become a part of that tradition.

“Classic Day at the Races…”

As sponsor of the "Best Club Display" 2017, Classic Cover Insurance is looking for the best reflection of the theme “Classic Day at the Races…" There's a great prize not to mention instant fame for the best club entry.

What could you show for your display?

“A Day at the Races” (without the “classic”) was of course a famous American movie featuring the Marx Brothers – and you’d be showing your age if you saw it when it was launched back in 1937.  Well it was probably still showing here in the 1950’s. Other days at the races themes usually involve horses or motorsport. But you may well decide to feature a picnic with participants costumed in the era of display cars.  A brainstorming session over a bottle of red often results in some classic ideas.

Your display doesn’t have to be all that serious – think about some of the classic things you might have done back in the day…

Thanks to the internet, the resources are virtually endless. Consider incorporating sound into your display.

Once you get started you'll no doubt have plenty of other ideas and ways to add fun. So plan now to make your display a spectacular and original classic for 2017.
